Fostering historical consciousness and critical reflection, SLSU-OSR has mandated students from all campuses and colleges to join civic activity marking the 40th anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution, today, Feb. 25.
With the theme "From People Power to People's Participation: Civic Engagement and Democratic Spaces in the Philippines Today," the program will feature activities encouraging students and the academic community to reflect on the lessons of the past and its relevance to the present and future.
"This commemoration serves not only as a remembrance of a pivotal moment in Philippine history but also as an opportunity to educate, inspire, and strengthen our shared commitment to democratic ideals, active citizenship, and social responsibility," OSR stated in their invitation letter. Meanwhile, in line with the Supreme Student Council Federation (SSCF) Memorandum Order No. 1 s. 2026, physical attendance of local student council officials is required, while students may participate online via Facebook live.
